Well spring is in the air, bringing a sense of newness and renewal. Here is what should be fresh tonight:
There's nothing fresher than new BFA's (hopefully that's true). Enter PNCA's 503/971 exhibition, organized by two students, Joseph McGehee and Joseph Greer the exhibition will survey current art students from PNCA, PSU, Reed, OCAC, and Lewis & Clark.
Curated by Kristan Kennedy (Portland Institute for Contemporary Art), Robert Snowden (Yale Union), Libby Werbel (Portland Museum of Modern Art) this will be the first real shakedown of the new commons space so Im extra curious how it plays out as a gallery.

Julia Oldham at Portland Pataphysical Society
Julia Oldham's Farewell Brave Voyager features; installation of video, animation, music and drawing that memorialize 2 doomed astronaut dogs... one fictional, the other historical. Honestly I'm saddened by the fates of these two dogs but interested in the conflicting emotions this space odyssey might present... so nice to see the Everett Station Lofts doing challenging work again!
Farewell Brave Voyager | April 2 - May 23rd
Opening Reception: April 2, 6 – 8pm

Susan Seubert at Froelick
It is Portland Photo Month... something I can get into as a photographer myself and the best bet looks like Susan Seubert's The Fallacy of Hindsight. Suebert's B&W work in particular has a keen fragile and dark edge to it, like a black magic cauldron filled with memories and dreams.
The Fallacy of Hindsight | March 18 - May 2
Opening Reception: April 2nd til 8:00PM
Froelick Gallery
