True, June is a month where most everyone already has one foot in summer and it is filled with group and thesis shows. Still I'm gonna go old-school and pick three classic looking solo shows for you to check out.

At Blackfish Gallery Mandy Stigant presents Basketcase, exploring the ancient art that is making a vessel out of clay. It feels like a back to basics show for June and there is something really compelling about her ceramics. The classics are classics for a reason.

Sean Healy, Enabler (2014) cigarette ash on paper

Sean Healy's shows at Elizabeth Leach Gallery have always seemed a little compromised but his last show at Pacific University in 2013 reaffirmed why I Love this guy's work. Working in cigarette ash the graphically deft Healy has crafted his latest, titled Extroverts for ELG. It could be one of his most convincing efforts within the city limits?

Maggie Heath at Timeshare

I have been waiting for the Everett Station Lofts to pickup their game again and Timeshare's offering for June, Systems in Red: Clothing, by Maggie Heath looks like it fits the bill. The PR describes it as a warm "womb-like" "sanctuary" that is "haunting" and "interactive."
