Even though Appendix is having their last exhibition next month we have noticed how Alberta Street's scene has been becoming more serious as of late. It doesn't hurt that the city's two best art book stores Monograph and Ampersand have set up shop! Here are 3 picks for Alberta street tomorrow.

Clayton Cotterell, Range from above (2013)
Arrangements, the latest exhibition of photographs by Portland based Clayton Cotterell at Ampersand looks very promising. This new body of work is a departure from his previous show, "Unarmed, which quietly chronicled his brother's transition from boyhood to manhood as a mechanic/private who served in Afghanistan." This latest show revels in more abstract or formal studies but there is a dematerialization here that makes his approach interesting.
Arrangements | September 25 - October 24, 2013
Open till 8:00 September 26th
Ampersand
2916 NE Alberta St.
The newly upgraded
Antler Gallery is presenting its second annual Unnatural Histories group show featuring: Josh Keyes, Heiko Müller, Amy Ruppel, Katherine Brannock, Aaron Jasinski, Brin Levinson, Lisa Ericson, Susannah Kelly, Jennifer Parks, Keith Carter, Jon MacNair, Neil M. Perry, Bijijoo, Wes Younie and Rachel Sabin.
With a mix of myth and natural history this should be a very Portland show.
