I've got another The Score series of reviews in the works for later this week but till then here are some links.
Did you catch
Doug Aitken's house on Venice beach in the NYT's Magazine? A few years ago
I was annoyed that architects were beating artists at their own game. Well now Aitken just leveled the playing field by out cool-housing Koolhaus. Sure he is his own client and it wouldn't work for most other people but greatness isn't about being ubiquitous, it is about specificity and he's got that in spades.
Of course
David Lynch doesn't suck like most celeb artists because well he got his start making video installation art at the University of Wisconsin Madison.
RACC is
seeking works to add to the Visual Chronicle of Portland (I'm in the collection) and you have until May 11th to submit.
