Tracy Cockrell
Worksound presents
Poemophone, "a cacophonous collaboration, reading and performance series." Artist Tracy Cockrell repurposed old typewriters to create a series of sound sculptures that "explore the poetics of making meaning, playing with compositional strategies at the intersection of linguistics, literature, experimental music, and sculpture." These typewriters were distributed nationally to visual artists, writers, and musicians, who converged on Portland to record together during the installation at Worksound.

Glitterheart
Nationale presents
Lunation, an installation by Glitterheart, which is a collaboration between Jess Hirsch and Emma Lipp. July is the only month this year that includes a full "lunation" (complete lunar cycle between two moons), so the pair is exploring the popularly-held belief that the moon's tides affect our bodies.
Lunation will create "a cosmic landscape of astrological influences where geology merges with physiology, and performance and installation weave into ethereal layers of soil, skin, and rock."
