From Intermation

In conjunction with Boundary Crossings, the July interdisciplinary institute on animated arts, PNCA presents Intermation. Featuring work by Jacob Ciocci, Cassandra C. Jones, and Marieke Verbiesen, the exhibition "examines the relationship between the animated image and the screen and proposes new utility between or among the traditional apparatus of animation."

Joe Bartholomew, "Two by Three"

Chambers@916 presents Joe Bartholomew's Girih Extended. "The designs in Girih Extended are based on girih tiles, a medieval Islamic patterning system. Blake Shell's With a Strong Female Lead

The PDX Contemporary Window Project presents Blake Shell's With a Strong Female Lead. The project is a "written portrait" of the artist, executed by Netflix, that the artist says "stems from my interest in the influence of the internet on my generation."

David Oresick, still from "Soldiers in Their Youth"

Blue Sky presents Soldiers in Their Youth, a video compiled by David Oresick. The project is "a series of montages assembled from videos found on the Internet that were created by American soldiers and civilians reacting to the war in Iraq." This is part one of the project, which is made from footage of soldiers on the ground.

Recent graduates from 15 local art schools at Blackfish

The endless parade of recent graduates from PSU, PNCA, OCAC, Marylhurst, Clark College, U of O, Reed, Linfield, Lewis and Clark etc. (15 institutions in all) can be a little daunting but this show culls two from each program. Check this show out and perhaps discover the next big thing?
