Cathedrals, a series of paintings "inspired by sites from Opal Whiteley's childhood diary and overlaid with the energy and inquisitiveness of Barker's personal landscape." The diary, published in 1920, is set in a rural logging community near Cottage Grove, Oregon, and includes references to self-styled "cathedrals" in nature that she routinely visits.
