Antithesis

Recess presents Antithesis, the second installment in the Synthesis Series. "Twelve artists, selected for their divergent backgrounds and capacity for collaboration, have been randomly paired into groups of two. This is the follow-up to Thesis, which debuted at Research Club last December. As the groups have been tossed around, the new pairings will respond to the projects previously created, with an 'antithetical' slant." This may be Recess' last show in the Artistery since the building is being leveled.

Rose McCormick

Ditch Projects presents the final installment of Ditch Freeze, In from the Cold and Out Again (or possibly In from the Cold and Back Again), work by Rose McCormick and Maidens of the Cosmic Body Running. The show "is part eviction notice and part vision quest, an environmental disruption sending the viewer on a search for light and shelter. An open proscenium blurs the concreteness of architectural confinement while a candlelight Orion offers pinpricks of light in a cold winter sky. Rose McCormick and Maidens of the Cosmic Body Running unite to exploit this artificial in-between, creating an instance of spatial twilight within a frozen moment of sudden solstice."
