In case you somehow missed
Donald Judd mania in April, you can still see the exhibition of his work at the University of Oregon's White Box gallery in the White Stag building. It's open to the public and up through May 21, 2010, with a First Thursday reception this week. Show curator and PORT founder Jeff Jahn notes that: "This is the first show of major Judd works in the Pacific Northwest since 1974 and the first ever exhibition of Judd's drawings for fabricators and drawings by fabricators and other ephemera."

Elizabeth Leach presents Claire Cowie's
Pilgrimage: New Work. The exhibition is a collection of images from her personal experiences: "relics of the secular pilgrimage that is her life... [that] represent moments, objects, relationships, and personalities that have helped her along her path, serving as anchors and guideposts, connecting her to something larger."

Gus Van Sant, "Josh and Boy"
PDX Contemporary presents
Cut-ups by Gus Van Sant. The show features a series of photographic constructions ("cut-ups") made from Polaroids that were primarily created as records of people to be used in Van Sant's film projects. He digitally reconstructed them for the exhibition, recombining them into "uncanny, dreamlike musings on the multi-facedness of persona."

Fliperama Rhapsody by Artur Silva. The show is titled for both the video and installation included in the exhibition, which "transforms the space into a faux arcade full of blinking lights, functional and non-functional arcade machines, a video installation and fog billowing from unseen corners."

Cover by Holly Senn. In response to the "hardscape" outside the gallery, Senn has created a tree-cover landscape inside the space that "juxtaposes the exterior visible elements of binding and protection with more elusive interior elements such as memory, discovery, and escape."
