The Hearst Corporation is seeking submissions for their 2011 8x10 Photography Biennial Competition, open to all U.S. and international freelance, amateur and professional photographers and students, aged 18 to 35 years of age. Muse Art and Design and Schoolhouse Supplies is seeking artists to participate in "An Artist A Day," a live art-making fundraising event to raise money to purchase art supplies for Portland classrooms. The fundamentals: artists create work live, then the piece is auctioned. The artist gets 50% of the proceeds and the rest goes to classroom art supplies. All artists are profiled on the Muse website and the work will be up for viewing and bidding for 6 weeks. To participate, applications must be received by February 21.
