Carson Ellis, "The Junkyard"
PAM's artist talk series continues this week with illustrator
Carson Ellis, who has created art for local rock band The Decemberists and books such as
The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart,
The Composer is Dead by Lemony Snicket, and
The Beautiful Stories of Life by Cynthia Rylant. She'll pick one or two works in the museum that he loves and lead a discussion on them. The group departs from the Hoffman Lobby at 6pm and returns there after the discussion for happy hour until 8.

Freeman Lau Siu Hong, Salisbury Garden Hong Kong Museum of Art
Freeman Lau Siu Hong is lecturing at PAM this weekend in conjunction with
China Design Now. He's the founding partner of Kan and Lau Design Consultants and an internationally renowned sculptor and graphic and industrial designer based in Hong Kong. He and Carl Alviani, an industrial designer and editor of the influential design blog Core77, will discuss graphic design, typography, and advertising in China today, with a focus on trends from the city of Shenzhen.
