I really liked The Little Field's gallery space , could this be the Portland version of the end of the white cube?
Essentially it's like the perfect little garage for a lovingly cared for 60's MG or Jaguar and it gives really nice visual compression to the art. The compression makes for good siting of floor based installations or sculpture.
The young woman who is operating space seems knowledgeable and driven ...so with 2 spaces where art is replacing the car we could be witnessing a new alt space insurrection here?.
I remember speaking with Fritz Haeg about this sort of idea... except it was bakeries etc. ...still there is something cool about a very contemporary experience after the onslaught of neo hippy stuff transpiring on Alberta Street itself.
