Art Film Series cont.
Roy Lichtenstein, "The Head," Barcelona, 1992
The NW Film Center's
ongoing art film series continues this weekend with Vincent Gérard and Cédric Laty's
By the Ways: A Journey with William Eggleston. The film explores the life and creative history of photographer
William Eggleston. The crew tracked him from Memphis to Rome and beyond over the course of several months, "building an incremental portrait of the world as seen through the artist's eyes."
Also coming up in the series: A double-billing of
The Universe of Keith Haring and Conversations with Jean-Michel Basquiat on Sunday, March 22, and a double-billing of
Roy Lichtenstein: Tokyo Brushstrokes and Ellsworth Kelly: Fragments on Wednesday, March 25.

Ben Rivers, from "Ah, Liberty!"
The Cinema Project is screening two nights of films by British filmmaker and programmer
Ben Rivers. His films are elegantly shot "hand-processed documents showing old, crumbling houses and folks living out of the way in shacks and tall grass... The films are landscapes, but not old-fashioned, or tending towards the ideal; there is a reality and brutality in the imagery." The artist will be in attendance.
