Looking for a glimpse into Portland's future? The
Future Arts Fest asked Portland artists to explore where they thought the Portland art scene was going - and follow it. The First Thursday event features work by Corey Smith, Sarah Gottesdiener, Olivia Edith, Chloe Richard, Wesley Younie, Bradley Royce, Kjerstin Rossi, and Hooligan Ship. There will be hot DJs and live dancers, and the proceeds benefit PDJX.

I just took in Molly Vidor's "Destroyer" show at PDX and it is definitely one to see. Her most visceral paintings ever.
For groups shows..."The Man Show" over at Quality Pictures looks like it will be a lot of fun too. They were still hanging but from what I saw it should have something for everyone. All they need now is a guest apperance from Charlie Sheen.
The Stumptown coffee downtown has a promising group show of collaborative artists... and the team of Amy Steel and Gary Wiseman will probably be worth a look.
