Randomly Random
A bit ago, there was mention of
Damien
Hirst not exactly following directions resulting in the need to replace
the shark in “The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone
Living”. On the Time’s website there’s a
video
of the removal of the shark, which is somewhat fascinating. In fact, there are
quite a few
videos
on the site which offer some interesting illustrations to recent
articles.
If you haven’t seen this
site
it’s fun for bashing and bolstering in glorious anonymity the work of those
who actually get to show their work. Wouldn’t it be great to have something
like that here? I love how it’s just the work, no comments or criticism
by the bloggers on the front page and then havoc in the comments.
And you may not know about this but you should.
The
Irving Sandler Artists File is a registry that is open to the public and free

And if you’re looking to get out of town, November 1 is the
deadline
for the
Roswell Artists
in Residence program. One of the few that make accommodations for family,
through stipend and living space, it’s an excellent opportunity to get some
work done. Just leave the dog at home.
