Lots of very interesting artists opportunities out there right now. Some free, some not, but all worth considering...
As previously mentioned on PORT, the Center for Contemporary Art in Seattle is seeking entries for their annual juried show. Feel like you really could have gotten into this year's biennial? Well here's your chance to remind Jennifer Gately just how you good you are. Gately, the Portland Art Museum's Curator for Northwest Art has been brought on board to jury this one. The show has been a bit hit or miss in previous years, but I think this year will be hot, considering the call is national.

Maybe because I have TBA and David Eckard on my mind, I though this one was interesting. The Drawing Club, an international art collective, is seeking proposals for their "Float Project". This exhibition will highlight flotation devices for use in water in the event of another natural disaster. Selected from sketches and digital drawings, some artists will be asked to create the actual flotation device for the exhibition and those will be displayed as well.

Visual Codec is seeking submissions for "One Shot", their first regionally juried book, due out late December. Artists from Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia are eligible. If this book is half as cool as the VC web journal, it is definitely worth the entry fee. Jurors include: Greg Bell (Seattle WA), Elizabeth Brown (Seattle WA), Christoper Drelich (Portland OR), Jen Graves (Seattle WA), Adam Harrison (Vancouver BC), James K-M (Vancouver BC), Eva Lake (Portland OR), Alex Pensato (Vancouver BC), Prudence Roberts (Portland OR), Beth Sellars (Seattle WA), Siobhan Smith (Vancouver BC), and Richard Speer (Portland OR).

As part of an ongoing commitment to promote challenging, innovative practices in the visual arts, the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA) is seeking artists to submit entries to a national juried exhibition of contemporary drawing. The exhibition will provide a venue for contemporary artists to continue to challenge the traditional methods, media and philosophy of drawing where its boundaries have been profoundly blurred. Sounds awesome.
Drawing No Conclusions
