It’ll have to be a mini round up this week as I’m happily stuck in
the studio and can’t tear myself away for long. I’m neglecting everything
and everyone and though it feels selfish on some level – I have a family
to care for and the laundry is piling up – I'm really not feeling
that bad. I have found some intermittent solace
in the discussion over at
Anonymous
Female Artist. Most artist's have something else that pulls them away from
their production- a job, lover, family. If you're an artist, how do you make time
for the studio? What keeps you out?
Here are a couple of tidbits to chew on:
Are you interested in moving to New York and swapping your home for a rent controlled
apartment near Columbia for $800 a month? If so, you might want to contact the
person who posted this ad on
craigslist.
And another bit up for discussion: approaching galleries. Junc Gallery in LA invited
Port’s own Jennifer Armbrust to weigh in on the best tactics for getting
representation as discussed on their
blog.
Take a gander then come back here and let us know how you go about that task,
if you’re an artist. If you’re a gallerist, let us know how you go
about your selection process.
